The Word Behind the Journey Junoon
The divine madness of longing.

Not discipline. Not ambition. The thing that moves you before you've agreed to go.

The word isn't in the name by accident. It's in how the days are shaped.

The Road

1,300km route
4,693m at Khunjerab Pass
14days Islamabad to Skardu
7,000+glaciers in Pakistan

Islamabad to Skardu. Fourteen days.

The Karakoram Highway runs 1,300 kilometers from Punjab through the valleys of Kashmir, over Babusar Top at 4,173 meters, north through Hunza to Khunjerab Pass at the Chinese border — the highest paved international crossing on earth — then south and east to Skardu at the base of K2. The road took twenty years to build. More than 7,000 glaciers. More than any country outside the polar regions.

Before You Apply

Is this for you?

For you if
You ride. You hold a valid motorcycle license and have real experience — not expert level, honest level. You've been on roads that weren't designed for comfort.
You feel, somewhere underneath the busyness, that something is missing. You can't fully name it. That's a reasonable place to start.
You are physically capable of long days at altitude. Not an athlete — someone who doesn't quit when things get uncomfortable.
You are curious about Pakistan beyond what you've been shown. You suspect the real version is nothing like the headlines.
You can sit with silence. You can be in a small group for two weeks without needing to perform.
You understand this trip will be tough. The reward is proportional to that.
Not for you if
You want a packaged, frictionless holiday. There are excellent companies that offer that. This is not one of them.
You don't hold a license or have no prior riding experience. We cannot safely take beginners on these roads.
You're coming primarily to collect content. The phones come out for the mountains. They stay down for the conversations.
You need certainty that nothing will go wrong. Certainty is not available on the Karakoram. Competent guidance is.
You're not open to being changed by it.
Who Leads This

How Did We
Get Here?

Pakistani-American. Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi. I've hitchhiked nearly every corner of Pakistan and spent years in the country across multiple trips — the north, several times over.

93 countries over nine years. Hiked the Darién Gap. Hitchhiked through Sudan during the revolution. A month in Afghanistan. Rode the Pan-American Highway to Ecuador. Alaska commercial fishing every summer since 2020.

A licensed mechanic from Pakistan Bikers travels with us. These roads demand it. You won't be solving problems alone.

Group Size

Maximum 10 riders. Small enough that you're never anonymous. Large enough to manage the unexpected.

One departure.
Ten riders.
September 19.

Not everyone who applies will be a fit — and that's the point. Applications are reviewed personally. Every applicant hears back within 5 business days.
